Logbook servicing
Logbook servicing, warranty intact.
You do not have to go back to the dealership to keep a new car warranty. You have to follow the schedule, and we do.
“Consumers do not have to use the vehicle manufacturer's preferred repairer to keep their warranty.”
01Using an independent workshop does not void your warranty
This is the single most common thing people get wrong, and dealerships are not always in a hurry to correct it. Under Australian Consumer Law you can have a new vehicle serviced by any qualified workshop without affecting the manufacturer's warranty, provided the service follows the manufacturer's schedule and the parts used meet the required specification. The ACCC has stated this position plainly.
What matters is that the work is done properly, to the schedule, with the right parts, and that the logbook is stamped to show it. Keep your invoices as well. That record is what protects you if a warranty question ever comes up.
02What the logbook actually is
The logbook is the manufacturer's own service schedule for your specific vehicle. It sets out what gets inspected, what gets replaced, and at what distance or age. It is not a generic checklist, and it is not the same between two cars sitting side by side in a car park.
Bring it in with the car. We work to what your book specifies for the interval you have reached, not to a standard service that happens to be close enough.
03Where people come unstuck
Two things cause most of the trouble. The first is missing an interval entirely, then trying to catch up later, which leaves a gap in the record. The second is having work done without the book being stamped, which from a warranty point of view can look much the same as not having it done.
If your history has gaps or you bought the car second hand with an incomplete book, bring it in anyway. We will tell you honestly where it sits and what makes sense from here.

The logbook
The manufacturer's schedule for your exact vehicle. It tells us what this interval calls for.
Previous invoices
Useful where the book has gaps, and worth keeping regardless.
What you have noticed
Noises, lights, anything that has changed. It often matters more than the interval.
Logbook questions
Straight answers.
Will servicing my car here void the manufacturer's warranty?
No. Under Australian Consumer Law you can have a new vehicle serviced by any qualified independent workshop without voiding the manufacturer's warranty, as long as the service follows the manufacturer's schedule and uses parts of the correct specification. The ACCC has been explicit about this. Bring your logbook and we will work to it and stamp it.
How often should I be servicing my car?
Follow the schedule in your logbook rather than a rule of thumb. Most modern cars fall somewhere between 10,000 and 15,000 km or every 12 months, whichever comes first, but it varies a lot by make, by engine, and by the sort of driving you do. Short trips, towing and dusty work all shorten the interval.
Do you work on European cars, diesels, 4WDs and hybrids?
Yes. We work on all makes and models, petrol and diesel, European, 4WD and hybrid.
How do I book, and is a booking request a confirmed booking?
Calling is quickest. You can also send a booking request through the contact page, but that is a request rather than a confirmed time: nothing is locked in until someone from the workshop has spoken to you and confirmed it.
