What we do

Three trades, one workshop.

Most workshops on the Gold Coast do one of these. We do all three, which means fewer hands on your car and one number to call.

01 · Brakes

Brakes are in our name for a reason.

Inspection, pads, rotors, drums and the noises and vibrations that send people looking for a mechanic in the first place.

When a rotor is worn unevenly we can machine it back to flat here rather than posting it out, and when it is past its minimum thickness we will tell you it needs replacing instead.

02 · Servicing

Servicing that keeps the logbook intact.

Routine servicing, oil changes and logbook servicing to the manufacturer's schedule, on petrol, diesel, European, 4WD and hybrid vehicles.

Using an independent workshop does not void a new car warranty. The ACCC has been clear about that, provided the work follows the schedule and the parts meet specification.

03 · Machining

The capability most workshops send away.

Brake rotors and drums, flywheels, cylinder heads and manifolds machined back to a flat, true surface on our own equipment.

It is the difference between your car waiting on somebody else's queue and the part walking across the floor.

Brake specialists

Brakes are the one system you cannot negotiate with.

A shudder through the wheel, a pulse in the pedal, a grind when you slow down. Each one points somewhere specific, and none of them get better on their own.

Why FB

Reasons that hold up.

  • Straightforward advice

We explain what the vehicle actually needs before any work starts, and what can wait.

  • Machining under the same roof

Rotors, drums, flywheels, heads and manifolds are cut here rather than sent to a third party.

  • We will tell you when not to

A disc below its stamped minimum thickness gets replaced, not skimmed. You will hear that from us.

  • Car servicing, all makes and models

Petrol and diesel, European, 4WD and hybrid vehicles.

  • Your logbook stays valid

Logbook servicing to the manufacturer's schedule, stamped, without going near a dealership.

  • A local Nerang workshop

On Jay Gee Court, servicing Southport, Ashmore, Carrara, Robina, Helensvale and the surrounding coast.

Questions

Straight answers.

Will servicing my car here void the manufacturer's warranty?

No. Under Australian Consumer Law you can have a new vehicle serviced by any qualified independent workshop without voiding the manufacturer's warranty, as long as the service follows the manufacturer's schedule and uses parts of the correct specification. The ACCC has been explicit about this. Bring your logbook and we will work to it and stamp it.

My brakes shudder when I slow down. Do I need new discs?

Not necessarily. That shudder is usually uneven thickness across the disc rather than the disc being worn out. If there is enough material left, machining takes the face back to flat and the shudder goes away. If there is not, the disc has to be replaced. Every disc has a minimum thickness stamped into it, and that number decides which one you are looking at.

Do you work on European cars, diesels, 4WDs and hybrids?

Yes. We work on all makes and models, petrol and diesel, European, 4WD and hybrid.

What is the difference between mechanical work and machining?

Mechanical work is what happens on the car: servicing, diagnostics, brakes, suspension, clutches. Machining is what happens to a component once it is off the car, cutting a worn or warped surface back to flat on a machine. Most workshops do the first and send the second away. We do both here.

How do I book, and is a booking request a confirmed booking?

Calling is quickest. You can also send a booking request through the contact page, but that is a request rather than a confirmed time: nothing is locked in until someone from the workshop has spoken to you and confirmed it.

Don't wait for a small problem to become a big repair.
